Physiotherapy

Hands-on treatment can calm pain quickly, but lasting results come from restoring strength, control and confidence in movement. Physiotherapy gives you the tools to do exactly that.

Your programme is built around measurable goals, like walking without pain, returning to the gym, lifting your child or sleeping through the night, and progressed as you improve.

What it can help with

  • Joint and muscle injuries
  • Chronic or recurring back and neck pain
  • Tendon problems such as tennis elbow and Achilles pain
  • Reduced mobility, balance or strength
  • Arthritis-related stiffness
  • Recovery after fractures or immobilisation

Physiotherapy: common questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy?

It depends on local regulations and your insurer. Contact the clinic before booking and bring any doctor’s letters you have. If anything in your assessment needs medical investigation, you will be referred.

How is physiotherapy different from osteopathy?

There is significant overlap. Osteopathy leans more on hands-on techniques and whole-body assessment; physiotherapy places more emphasis on structured exercise rehabilitation. Dr Charbel Alam is trained in both and combines them as your case requires.

What should I wear to a physiotherapy session?

Comfortable clothing you can move in, such as shorts or leggings and a T-shirt, so the area being treated can be assessed easily.
